Physical Therapy
Dr. Jenson is very dedicated to having his patients back on their feet with the most minimal amount of recovery time following certain types of surgeries. That is why he is very pleased to offer physical therapy to help speed up the overall healing process.
Electrical stimulation therapy is a method of physical therapy designed to speed up healing, increase range of motion and increase blood flow to the area, while reducing swelling and scar tissue buildup. The treatment takes 30 minutes and is offered on Mondays and Fridays. More importantly, the therapy session is virtually painless.
During therapy, the patient will be attached to electrodes and go through specific contracting and pulsating phases to promote blood flow and healing cells to the area. Massaging the foot will also be used to help relax the muscles and increase its flexibility, ultimately preventing buildup of scar tissue.
Whether a patient just received surgery, has a stress fracture, or would like plantar fasciitis treatment, the patient will routinely come to the office to receive advance electrical stimulation therapy to promote a quicker heal. If surgery was performed, physical therapy cannot begin until sutures are removed.
