Injections

Conservative care is often the best answer for a patient’s foot issues. Steroid injections play an important role in the treatment of foot pain and can be used to help temporarily alleviate it. In some instances, these injections can even cause a permanent or longer-lasting result. From nerves to tendons & ligaments, injections can be a very useful means of treatment.

One of the most feared aspects of healthcare is a needle. Dr. Jenson realizes it is very common to see patients apprehensive when it comes to shots. Thus, he uses a modern cold spray in accordance with injections to help minimize the feel of the needle poking into the skin. In fact, most patients do not even realize the time the injection sticks, a benefit we find is greatly appreciated.

For the benefit of his patients and satisfaction for himself, Dr. Jenson likes to use local anesthetic along with his steroid shots. While other podiatrists tend to strictly use steroid only, Dr. Jenson feels this to be very painful to the patient. Steroid injections without numbing anesthetics cause burning sensations when the shot is applied. This pain does not help in maintaining the patient’s comfort factor that our office perceives. Thus, a patient is first given local anesthetic in accordance with a cold spray to provide virtually no feeling of the steroid when it is applied.
